Well... I'm seriously torn between sharing my squee/bragging/floofing my geeky feathers and keeping my mouth shut... Squeeing wins, in spite of my embarrassment. I blame
eldritchhobbit in any case. :-P
I'm embarrassed that I've spent money on my crack habit when I really don't know where rent money is coming from next month... Behold, my new things:
Teacup from the set of Bonanza
Napkins from the set of Wild Wild West
eBay is *SO* the Devil.
I'm not *too* embarrassed about the teacup... I'd blocked off money in my budget to get one for around the price I paid as a Christmas present to myself and though it will *horrify* the collectors in the house, I intend to use it. I feel no shame about that. As long as I don't break the thing, what harm can I do? (Ok, *maybe* I will wear off the gold rim from licking it endlessly, imagining the mouths that *might* have touched it...)
The napkins, however, were valuable food money for something that will sit in a box doing nothing, forever. I mean, how can I use them? They might stain or something! I can't explain why I simply HAD TO HAVE THEM :::sigh::: I suppose they weren't *that* much money... {{{sweats}}} Perhaps I will sell them for a small fortune at the bankruptcy auction after they have increased in value...?
The really exciting thing about this is that the seller has quite a bit of stock in a warehouse in LA and seems to specialize in domestic props - He had *many* WWW/BV/Bonanza items. He's promised to see if he has any of the Wanderer china on his next visit to the warehouse. OMG!!! It would be very, very exciting if he did because I have discovered since the last time I brought up this topic that THE BIG VALLEY INHERITED THE WANDER CHINA! Or, maybe it's just that they were each dolled out a portion of the set from the get-go, but the point is, the set belongs *firmly* to BOTH FANDOMS.
WILD WILD WEST/BIG VALLEY CROSSOVER IS SO FREAKING CANON!
Anyhoo... Feel free to beat me for spending money or for being annoying and flaunting my awesome new things... I shall ignore you and enjoy eating my Top Ramen from my fabulous new teacup. :-P
