Frequent Rider Programs

*The section of the USDF site where they allow us to track our rides is shutting down. That sucks. Although we didn't get anything for it besides little icons on the app, it was nice to log them there. I guess I'll be adding times here, then.

The Arabian Horse America site has a whole program where you can get little pins for riding certain amounts of hours, but they have to be arabians, and I don't have any anymore.

The International Andalusian and Lusitano site occasionally thinks about having a frequent rider program, but it never seems to get off the ground. To be fair, there are a lot less A/L riders than arabs in the US.

*Rode Rex Sunday. (Now I can't remember the last ride I posted. lol) I can't find the special pad that I put under the saddle for him, so I had to ride with the western saddle instead of the english. OMG, it was like riding an elephant at first. He's wide, and western saddles are huge, so it was wide on wide. Finally got used to it, but it's really hard to post in a western saddle-and you really can't sit his trot.
But he did well with having had his anti-inflammatory in the morning.

*Was really cranky Monday, so rode my bike for 40 minutes instead of one of the horses. It was a good plan as when I went out to feed I was a bit short with them.

*Monday had a great nonprofit meeting with some really good ideas, which was awesome. I start my stint as president next month. Also, OMG grant writing is nuts and scary! So glad we have experienced people to do that.

*Also Monday found out our billing dept has been picking their noses again, or something. Did not make me happy. Luckily the worked last month, so I can take it, but this on again off again crap is annoying, and harsh. Funny how they always get paid each month. We'll see what happens in our meeting, whenever that is. I know my partner is frustrated too. Not holding my breath, though.

*K was going to ride Zolar a bit in our lesson today, but she blanked, and forgot her stuff. So I got to be tortured the whole time! lol And Zolar because she decided that we needed to work poles again.

On a 20 meter circle a pole is laid across the path at four equal points. The idea is to 'help' the horse reach, make good strides, and hold himself up. It teaches the rider to not look down, and to also hold herself up. It seems quite simple, but it's actually quite taxing.

Note to jumpers: my poles are on the ground at least partly because we suck at jumping. In fact, until we get our act together he often steps on or kicks the poles while we're going. Luckily they're made of strong wood. lol

*Tomorrow we have a yummy sausage and pasta lunch planned. yum!

*Oh, today was Tess' turn at the vet. She got in the trailer with only a little pause and fuss at home and at the vet. In fact, they had to take her back out of the trailer there because vet decided he wanted a weight, and she still got back in. Good girl. She doesn't haul nearly as much as Zolar, and has had issues in the past, so yay today!
Oh, she's 1050 pounds in case anyone wants to know. :)
