Work has no central database. (Apart from the marketing one, which we producers aren't allowed within shouting distance of, lest we sour their precious precious contacts). I just found a potential speaker called Prof. Lee de Guzman. I need this man on my programme.

I've also found someone whose surname is Boggart. He is necessary too.

I have an event next week on a subject I know nothing about, which I inherited from my predecessor. She clearly knew she was going, and didn't really put the work in. The upshot is that, in the last 2-3 weeks, 14 out of my 25 speakers have cancelled.

Does anyone I know want to come and talk for half an hour on the future of Global Messaging?!

Spent the last three days on a fantastic training course. The group is small and full of ideas, the trainer is highly experienced and completely willing to wander off-topic if we ask random questions, and it's clearly pitched at future/upcoming managers which is a nice pat on the back. After four and a half long years of moaning, I have finally got my act together and found a new job. I handed my notice in today, and will start at Informa on the 12th April doing something similar but in a whole new market (and for better quality peanuts).

Mum tells me I'm not allowed to complain about the new job for at least 12 months!

Weird question, but I'm canvassing opinions. There's a job being advertised that I really want, which basically involves organising events and general admin into the bargain. My boss is leaving on Friday, and we're trying to put together a soundtrack for his leaving party. With the exception of Leaving on a Jet Plane, and Fly Me to the Moon, can anyone think of aviation/plane-related songs?

I have now proved that it is physically possible to run two conferences and larp a mainline event within the space of 10 days. Not advisable, mind, but possible.

And now I would like to explore this concept of sleep that I've heard so much about.
