It's a snow day!

We've had a couple of days where the air was a little warmer, and the scent was a little softer, and the sun was a little brighter. It has been very nice. And then it all went away this afternoon. Now it's just plain cold again, and overcast. It feels like snow to me, though I'm doubting I'm right.

Beaudacious bawked her last bawk sometime before the dawn, and now we're down to only one feathered girl, Bobbi Jo. She was up before the sun, calling and searching. It must be hard being a flock girl without a flock. We're going to try to find a couple of grown girls to bring home for her as she'll just peck chicks to death; chickens are neat, ( Read more... )

For so it was. Saturday the kids and I went aquarium shopping, and we found plants and rock and some Turquoise Rainbows for the tank. Then we put it all together and gave the fishies their new home. Fabulous. I have to say, watching fish beats watching TV most of the time. I can watch the fish for hours.

This is our boy, Tulio, and his impression of being a bird bath. He's the one who wandered into the house last summer, laid down on the cool hardwoods, and said, "Swanky pad, folks. I'm stayin'." And he did. He's also the one who never met a foodbowl he didn't like.
