The Huntington city council wanted to give the mayor a $18,000 raise over three years.

He refused, stating other city employees aren't getting raises in the upcoming year. Why should he?

UPDATE: He got his wish. On the initial vote during tonight's council meeting, City Council deadlocked 5-5, tabling the proposal.
