WU 2017.08: special crosstalk 2 - Tamamori Yuta/Takaki Yuya

Jul 23, 2017 23:50

[released July 7, 2017]

The second of three special crosstalks for WU's 350th issue. This one was Tamamori Yuta (of Kis-my-ft2) and Takaki Yuya (of HSJ), who were in the drama Gokusen 3 together. They talked about a bit of their junior history, their respective groups, and some future plans.

I would fight with Yamada!? I can't imagine that at all (laughs)
Takaki: It's been a while since I worked with you like this, isn't it Tama?
Tamamori: When we were juniors, we met often. We're the same age, and we joined around the same time. You joined about half a year after me?
Takaki: Probably.
Tamamori: In terms of people you joined with, wasn't Senga (Kento) one of them?
Takaki: Eh~ is that so? ...oh no, I can't remember (laughs)
Tamamori: You definitely entered around the time Senga did. You didn't know? The effeminate chimpanzee (laughs). But maybe the effeminate chimpanzee was in Nagoya at that time.
Takaki: You joined with (Yaotome) Hikaru-kun, right?
Tamamori: That's right~. He's in a grade behind us by one school year, but you didn't address him informally just now (laughs)
Takaki: Come to think of it, that's true. After all, he is my senior, and that's practically become a nickname (laughs). I vaguely remember Sanada (Yuma) around. It feels like he entered even before I did.
Tamamori: When we were juniors, we were both in "J.J. Express", but our period in it was slightly different.
Takaki: Yeah. By the time I joined, Tama had already been removed.
Tamamori: When I was part of it, there was Arioka (Daiki), (Nakajima) Yuto, Inoo (Kei)...
Takaki: Hasshi (Hashimoto Ryosuke) and Fukka (Fukazawa Tatsuya) weren't in it yet?
Tamamori: Right. They hadn't joined yet.
Takaki: With those people, it's practically Hey! Say! 7 (laughs)
Tamamori: Well, I was also born in Heisei after all!
Takaki: Perhaps you could have also become a JUMP member, it woudn't have been strange. When I imagine it, it would be interesting. You and Yamada (Ryosuke) would fight (laughs)
Tamamori: I would fight with Yamada!? I can't imagine that at all (laughs). To me, he still has a sense of "a younger small child".
Takaki: But the people who were the little kids, Yamada, Chinen (Yuri), and Yuto, are all 24 years old now?
Tamamori: Seriously~. In that case, we've also grown older (laughs)
Takaki: Going back to talking about fighting though, JUMP actually doesn't fight at all.
Tamamori: Your good relationships have become widely known. Then what if Takaki became Kisumai's T... in my place, like a short-term exchange. If it was Kisumai during our junior era, I think you'd definitely end up fighting. First of all, it would be a certainty with Yokoo (Wataru)-san.
Takaki: Really?
Tamamori: I've said this myself in magazines, but I fought with all of the members. It's like the gateway to success to becoming a Kisumai member. If you can't pass it, then you won't continue (laughs)
Takaki: Really~. Eh, Tama has done it too?
Tamamori: Of course!
Takaki: With your mild-mannered nature... I can't imagine it at all!
Tamamori: During our junior era, people got mad over unreasonable things. So then I couldn't bear it and would also get infuriated. "No, you're the one that's wrong, aren't you? Don't mess with me!" I'd say. Yokoo-san didn't think my mild-mannered self would reply with that. He was surprised by how hotheaded I got and agreed with "...o-oh" (laughs)
Takaki: Heeh~, that kind of thing happened! It's true that Yokoo-kun has an image of a strict person. I've also been scolded by him. Oh yeah, when we were juniors, Johnny-san asked me something.
Tamamori: Eh, what was it?
Takaki: This was a light conversation we had, but he asked me "Being in J.J. Express or Kisumai, or being with Tamamori... which one do YOU want?"
Tamamori: Eh, the two of us?
Takaki: Yeah. A mystery combination of the two of us.
Tamamori: This is the first I've ever heard of that though (laughs)!
Takaki: Of course. Because up until now, I hadn't told anyone about it. At the time, Tackey & Tsubasa had the keyword "T&T" every once in a while, didn't they? So in Johnny-san's mind, he probably thought we would be something like "T&T 2"
Tamamori: Eh, "2"? That could become a 3-man group with Nikaido (Takeshi) (laughs). A combination with the unsteady 2 of us at the time... it would have been dissolved in the blink of an eye (laughs)!
Takaki: Hahaha. At the time, Kisumai didn't have as many people as it does now, and it was completely filled with seniors...
Tamamori: Kisumai in its early days... Massu (Masuda Takahisa) was still in it then.
Takaki: Yeah. That's why I responded with "J.J. Express is fine"
Tamamori: And that's how I ended up in Kisumai... that's probably fate.
Takaki: If we had ended up as T&T 2... we would probably be scolded every day (laughs)
Tamamori: Seriously, when I was a junior, I got scolded to death by the choreographer all the time.
Takaki: I was on the same side as you. But I wasn't scolded as much as you were (laughs)
Tamamori: Right? I really was the king of getting scolded.
Takaki: What do you remember about it?
Tamamori: I still can't accept this, but before rehearsal, when Miyata (Toshiya) and I were stretching, we were shouted at with "what are you fooling around for!"
Takaki: Hahaha. I can picture that happening~
Tamamori: And then, the last call outs at the end of the live? They scolded me with "what kind of call out is that!" The call outs aren't really determined, right? So I was thinking, wouldn't it be better to make the audience excited?
Takaki: That's true. It's basically free.
Tamamori: I will never forget what I did during the live we did in Hokkaido. "You guys, go home already!" I said. And "I understand. I'll go."
Takaki: Oh~ an all-out confrontation (laughs)
Tamamori: It would have been fine if I'd left the room in a cool fashion, but I'd forgotten my shoes. So to get them, I had to go back into the room.
Takaki: Uwa, the worst pattern (laughs)
Tamamori: As expected, I was called out with "what are you doing, coming back". And in a serious state, I said "I've come to retrieve my shoes!" It was embarrassing~ (laughs)
Takaki: So then, what ended up happening?
Tamamori: I thought about various things. "If I left like this it would be over", kept calm, and apologised.
Takaki: Oh~ that's admirable! There was one time where I was defiant. And then, in my ear, they whispered "I'm really going to snap at you" in a calm voice, and it made me really flustered (laughs)
Tamamori: Cute~. I don't have any memories of you getting scolded though. When we were juniors, we went fishing, right?
Takaki: We did!
Tamamori: And Arioka went too?
Takaki: Probably... my memories of that are weak (laughs). Who did you hang out with?
Tamamori: Arioka and Senga... I hung out with various people.
Takaki: For me, I hung out with Fukka a lot.
Tamamori: We were just talking about JUMP and Kisumai, but what do you feel when you look at Kisumai?
Takaki: I said this earlier, but a lot of your members are older, and your melodies are aggressive aren't they? So your image is the complete opposite of JUMP's.
Tamamori: Ah, it's true that our images are like that. If Kisumai is considered the aggressive type, then JUMP is following the easy sparkling path, so we contrast each other in various ways. JUMP is noisy and gets along, but if you were to describe Kisumai, it's a group of "selves".
Takaki: Your individuality is strong! If something happens, JUMP members will get together to figure it out, but what about Kisumai?
Tamamori: That's also different. Asking each other "what should we do?" sometimes happens, but we're not the type to do that first. It's messy, but "instead of that, I'll show my personal strength", like that? That's why if the group has one opinion, it's really really serious (laughs)
Takaki: But a strong sense of self is one of your powerful weapons. When I appeared as a guest on "Moshimo Tours", I really felt it then.
Tamamori: Ah, when we were together.
Takaki: Yeah. You did what you normally did. You'd also talk with the other guests, and the level was really high. "Uwa, this isn't the Tama I know! Oh no, I have to do my best," is what I thought.
Tamamori: Really? It's true that right after debuting, we were able to appear on various variety shows, and I had a series of failures. But see, if Kisumai's individual strength doesn't appear, it's bad. I worked hard at that... and I'm still working hard at it now. I've seen the show JUMP's doing, "Itadaki High Jump" in the middle of the night, and it seems JUMP is also entertaining.
Takaki: So you've seen it! But it's not something JUMP can brag about yet (laughs). When we're on other programs, I think we're still weak. And Kisumai has "Kisumai BUSAIKU!?"? That's unfair! We want to try that (laughs)!
Tamamori: I want to see other groups do it too (laughs). Our seniors sometimes come to guest on the show, but the people who aren't used to it are the funniest after all! The other day (Imai) Tsubasa-kun came, and it was really funny. When we did "27 Hour Television" with JUMP, you guys did it. Yabu (Kota) was really terrible, and it was the funniest (laughs). On that program, if you do it really seriously, it's fine to be bad at it.
Takaki: Hikaru-kun was unexpectedly trying to aim for the top (laughs). After that, Hikaru-kun was like, "I have an idea~" and he ended up doing a long one and was made fun of by JUMP (laughs). Ah, by the way... is Nikaido-kun trying to get all of the laughs?
Tamamori: No, and it's sad... he's really trying (laughs)
Takaki: I see! With those characters that appear on the screen, wouldn't he feel down!?
Tamamori: He unexpectedly has a deep wound in his heart (laughs). I want JUMP to guest again.
Takaki: Please! Ah~ today's talk was really fun!
Tamamori: Right! Ah, we talked about this before, with the "let's go fishing". It's about time we make it a reality. The other day, I went with Hama-chan (Hamada Takahiro)
Takaki: Really!? Uwa, I want to go too!
Tamamori: Anyway, you only need to get the fishing gear. As soon as you buy it, contact me immediately.
Takaki: Okay, got it! This summer, we'll definitely go!
