WU 2017.08: special crosstalk 3 - Shigeoka Daiki/Nakajima Kento

The third of the special crosstalks for WU's 350th issue, this one is Shigeoka Daiki and Nakajima Kento, who apparently last did a crosstalk together in this magazine for Bad Boys J. They talk about what would happen if they switched groups, about their respective groups in general, and a bit about their relationship/some future plans together.
Uwa, it feels like I'm at Kento's mercy (laughs)
Shigeoka: Recently, I've somehow become familiar with what your character is like, and what your group's atmosphere is like. If I joined Sexy Zone, I wonder what it would be like (laughs)
Nakajima: Then why don't we lend (Sato) Shori over to WEST to be their centre for a short moment (laughs). Uwa, I want to try it!
Shigeoka: I feel like if Shori were to join WEST, he would do good things. He'd have a nephew-type character, and he would be like "I wanted this!" and everyone would dote on him (laughs).
Nakajima: Ah, I could see that happening. He'd probably be the youngest member?
Shigeoka: Yup. (Kotaki) Nozomu is our youngest child, but he's not like a nephew-type at all (laughs). But it seems like Shori can read the atmosphere, so he'd probably be able to make fun of (Nakama) Junta well.
Nakajima: Yeah. Since Shori's kind of an S, he'll definitely be fine doing that (laughs)
Shigeoka: Who does Shori usually make fun of?
Nakajima: The younger two... Matsushima (Sou) and Marius. He doesn't really tease Kikuchi or myself.
Shigeoka: Heeh, is that so. WEST is the opposite, "the younger members making fun of the older ones" is more common. That worries me. I'll have to match Sexy Zone's straightforward idol atmosphere (laughs)
Nakajima: For our group... if Shori doesn't have the feeling of being a centre in particular, it's bad. When it comes to the phrases he says in the middle of songs, he has to say them with a snap. He's never fooled around!
Shigeoka: ...oh no. Even in just my imagination, I don't feel like I could do it. Rather, I would probably think, "I can take this chance to make people laugh!" (laughs)
Nakajima: I think you can do it though. I remember what you were like when you were a junior!
Shigeoka: Eh, did I really have that kind of character then?
Nakajima: Standing next to (Nakayama) Yuma with a glare on your face, proclaiming "one day, I'll definitely stand at the top!"... you were commonly called Glaring Shige.
Shigeoka: I made that kind of bad expression? (laughs) Well, it's true that I did glare at times.
Nakajima: It's not particularly a bad expression. More like... a hungry spirit, or ambition. Now that that's come out, I was also that type. "We have something similar," is what I thought.
Shigeoka: Heeh~. It's just that Yuma had that kind of definite existence. For me it wasn't just "I will" it was "I will also".
Nakajima: No, I don't think there's a thing like "definite" in this world. There's the possibility that change would happen one day, and I can make it happen myself... this is what I believe!
Shigeoka: I see... how passionate (laughs)
Nakajima: In fact, Shige is the core of Kansai... in WEST you're the centre. You're a guy with that kind of strength. That's why you can't think "absolutely impossible". It's what you embody.
Shigeoka: Ah... thank you (laughs). But for me, I've never been particular about being centre. My member colour is red, and like a template, I was in the middle often, but depending on the song, other members will also be to the middle. That's something that happens in groups. I think that kind of change definitely happens every once in a while.
Nakajima: I see. What if I was in WEST instead, what would it be like?
Shigeoka: Well~, you'll be defeated by us making fun of you (laughs). For people from Kansai, you're the kind of person that we can't leave alone (laughs)
Nakajima: Unlike when we did this for you and you couldn't see it happening, I can imagine this happening myself (laughs)
Shigeoka: WEST doesn't just make fun of each other though, if there's something to be given, then we'll do it. That's the kind of kindness our group has (laughs). In our group, are there any members that you'd still consider a mystery?
Nakajima: Eh~ mystery members? Shigeoka Daiki, right? I've never seen what he's done in private, and I don't really know what's in his heart.
Shigeoka: Me!? It's true that we're on good terms, but in terms of going out to eat together or co-starring together in a drama, we've only done it once... haven't we?
Nakajima: Seems so. Even though I want to meet up with you when you come to Tokyo. Do you usually hang out with WEST?

Nakajima: Oh~ that would be good! By the way, every time, Shori has led putting it together, but this time, Kikuchi is... speaking of, it seems that's changed this time.

Nakajima: Really? It's true that the audience's reaction is really good, and I also enjoyed standing on the stage. For me, I've actually never gone to see WEST's concerts. When WEST comes to Tokyo, it always overlaps with something else I'm doing. I want to see it. What was it like this time?
Shigeoka: We often open with an energetic song like "Eejanaika", but this time we started with a really cool song...
Nakajima: Heeh~, I want to see it! But being able to choose that kind of opening is because you debuted, just from that you have so many cards to choose from.
Shigeoka: But in the middle, we're wearing takoyaki heads (laughs).
Nakajima: Well~, WEST is good with that. All of the members are mature adults, and balance each other out in various ways, if someone chooses a goal, or if someone tries to fall daringly, you'll properly decide based on the atmosphere.
Shigeoka: Ah, it's true that recently, we haven't been meeting, but we've naturally been able to do those things. What about Sexy Zone?
Nakajima: I actually feel like Sexy Zone's weak point is probably concert MC. For WEST, with people like Junta, you're really good at the conversations.
Shigeoka: That's true. His sense of security with countering and returning the conversation to normal is no joke. And Akito is good at dividing the conversation, and then Nozomu and I come and interrupt...
Nakajima: See, just in MC, you have people that can do that. What a luxury!
Shigeoka: After all, we're always talking... I think that's largely important. Right now, the 7 of us are filming a drama for Netflix, but when we have free time, we're always talking to each other. Our MC was probably born out of that kind of atmosphere. Even when we're quiet and someone fools around arbitrarily, someone else can't help but counter them (laughs)
Nakajima: WEST is really on good terms. For example, when we're doing "The Shounen Club", even though our changing rooms are slightly far apart, I can hear your excited voices.
Shigeoka: What is Sexy Zone's dressing room like?
Nakajima: There's an extreme temperature difference (laughs). When we're excited, the 5 of us are noisy, but when we're quiet, it feels like everyone's probably silently reading books or staring at their phones.
Shigeoka: I see... isn't that what a normal group is like? We're just a bit peculiar (laughs)
Nakajima: Perhaps. But recently, Sexy Zone's distance has also decreased significantly. They'll check the works I'm in, and tell me their impressions of it. The member's thoughts of love have somehow increased in temperature. That's why I can't take my eyes off from the future Sexy Zone.
Shigeoka: I see. At first, we were conscious of an existence of an older team and a younger team, but it's completely disappeared by now.

-WU flipped the colours for these 2 in the cross talk (Kento red Shige blue) so I essentially ended up flipping them back
-I was going to do Takaki/Tamamori next but I apparently got so distracted I lost the plot midway and did this one instead whoops
