medievalists.net and other news

http://www.medievalists.net/ aka, My New Favorite Website - very well done and interesting without being overspecialized or poorly organized (as so many medievalist sites are). I wish I had several million dollars lying around so I could buy one of these awesome castles for sale... Someday!

In other news, my parker presentation went really well, unexpectedly well, yesterday. HUZZAH! And apparently what I thought was just a class research presentation turned out to be a full-blown all-afternoon conference at the library attended by scholars from all around the area. Dr. Parker told us to throw it on the CV, which was a nice bonus ending to a very edifying but exhausting day.
However, now that the research has been presented, I feel done, and keep forgetting that I still need to write an article on it... blarg. Some of us medievalists in the class (me, Phil M, Phil K, and John) and Casey went out to the West End Grill and Pub after the presentations to celebrate. We love that place (it's attached to Casey's theatre where he's performing in My Three Angels!) and it was fun to introduce its deliciousness to our friends. Nearly all of us got the chef's burger - all burgers should have an onion ring on them I've decided. Delicious! Fun was had by all. The relaxed fun that only happens after the weight of a stressful project has finally been lifted from your shoulders.

Today was my last day teaching my Wednesday undergrad class. *tear!* My favorite (meaning funniest) students were all in this class, and I will miss them. On the plus side, they asked really good questions, review went well, and I got to be nice and let them out 5 minutes early (which I never do). So it was a good end to a good semester.
