I was going to make my list of all the things I did in 2008 that I had never done before, and started a whole long new year's entry, and then it got lost, and when I reopened, there was no 'saved draft' to restore. Boo. But can I just say that it is INSANE that at this time last year, I was still in the middle of my senior year at Cornell, working on grad school applications, and hadn't even started writing my MWP paper. Amazing, cause that feels so much longer ago than just a year. I've graduated from Cornell, moved to a whole new city, I'm finally living with Casey, and I've survived my first semester at Saint Louis University. It's a lot for a year.
What have I been up to recently? Well, on the 30th, I had a BLAST with my friends. After a successful trip to the mall with Sammie and Izzy (in which I got very cute new heels) I picked up Steven and went over to Sammi's house to see Yogi, her adorable new puppy! We played with all 4 dogs for a good long while and then Jordan and his friend and girlfriend came over and that was cool cause I had not seen Jordan since the wiffleball party before he left for his mission. After a good long while at the Kreider residence, we parted ways from Jordan's crew and went down to Tokyo Joes for some late dinner. Mmmm white chicken + veggies bowl. Dave and Steph joined us later, and can you guess where we went after Tokyo Joe's? Where Else? Barnes and Noble! (As is fitting with tradition.) After some good loitering and book perusal (glaze doughnut WHAT?) we eventually (aka, when B&N kicked us out cause they were closing) decided to head down to the Merc (a) for an open-at-night place to hang, and (b) to meet up with Jordan etc. and dance some. OH MY GOD WE LAUGHED SO HARD IN THE CAR!!! I love my friends so much. I was the only one who danced, and personally had a fanTAStic time doing so (my right shoulder was so sore the next day - ah how I've missed that) and a fantastic time chatting up my friends in between dances. Sammi and Steven have decided that their friendship-of-fighting was more like that of a divorced couple, which made for some funny interactions, when Sammi wasn't abating the awkwardness by being overly flirtatious and humorously inappropriate. I was surprised that Jordan, unlike his fantastic dancing brothers, Zach and Ben, is not a swing dancer! Danced with him anyway after he picked up some tips from Joe, which was a lot of fun. All in all I had a fantastic night with my friends. I think I forgot how much I enjoy all of them.
Ok, New Year's update some other time, cause Sammi is going stir crazy so we need to hang out!
