Gutting and Organizing - so delicious.

Yesterday I made a list of 11 things I wanted to get done, and thought I'd be happy if I got through even half of them, but I ended up doing 7, and I did a lot more today! Yay.

Yesterday I finished the whole front of my quilt and it looks AMAZING. I love it so much and I'm so pleased with how big and shiny it is. Except, it's so big that it's three inches wider than my fleece is for the back, so damn, I don't have enough fleece. Now I could trim the white border, or I could leave it as is and buy new fleece tomorrow. I haven't decided yet. If I do buy new fleece I could still use this fleece for Sammie's softball quilt later.

I'm so excited for Casey to come vacation in Colorado in 2 weeks! YAYYYY!

Yesterday I also went to see Dr. Hock, my optometrist, and the nurse lady was really nice and friendly. Then I learned my prescription (-5.75 Left, -6.50 Right) is still the same! That means my eyes have been stable for a few years now, and are unlikely to change. This is great because it means that should I ever want it, I'm a great candidate for Lasik. I think my optometrist is annoyed with my choice of contacts, but as any contact wearer can tell you, once you find a brand that doesn't irritate your eye or get dry or strain your eyes or get uncomfortable by the end of the day, you stick with 'em. I love this brand. But because they're not the MOST oxygen permeable, he wishes I'd switch back to focus dailies. But those weren't as comfortable come nighttime, and I think they're very wasteful. Anyway, so I also got a great new glasses case (mine was probably from the mid nineties and no longer closed all the way...) and new nosepads for my glasses. What a great optometrist visit.

After that I stopped by Hearthfire and bought a new diary with my hearthfire giftcard. It's pretty, but they don't have much of a selection. It's also small, and so I hope I don't get annoyed that the pages aren't as big as my last three books.

Also I've started working out for Mt. Bierstadt. Dad suggested I just do the yard. My backyard is exceptionally steep, and I got quite a workout just walking from the bottom to the top of the property, and back down again, several times over. My butt was very tired later that night! I'll keep that up for three weeks, and I should be fine.

Today I worked on gutting my closet more. It's such a big job... And I really want to move onto all the drawers and stuff in my long dresser here! I stumbled across the "Amy's Favorites" book of hot guys. Linda and Jamie might remember this. It was a binder, full of construction paper pages, with hot celebrities pasted on each page, which I carefully collected out of all my teen magazines and Us weekly magazines. Oh my gosh it was so funny. I worked hard on that collection! I must say though, I did have good taste. (Though, if you were to see my boyfriend right now, who looks like a hairy bushman with his haircut and beard for this movie, one might be inclined to disagree.) Anyway, couldn't throw that, or the folder of Blink-128 pictures, or the huge folder of all LOTR photos and posters away, so it all went in a tub.

What should I do with alllll my fantasy novels I wonder... There's no room for them on the bookshelf downstairs, but I want to take this little bookshelf/beside table with me to St. Louis. Let me say something about my St. Louis apartment. I'm a little worried that all the furnitures will be different woods and it will bug me cause I like things to match. I guess when you're a young grad student in your first apartment, you don't get the luxury of matching furniture. But still, I hope my bedroom looks like there is some sense of decorative choice, instead of just a mismatch room of stuff I need. We'll see.

Speaking of, I think I should make a checklist of what stuff we'll need for the apartment, you know, table and chairs, bed, dressers, ice cream scooper, you know, furniture and appliance essentials, and between the three of us, start checking things off so we know what we have and what we should be trying to find or needing to buy when we get there, (or trying to get my mother to buy for me at Kohl's).
