My cousin Kris writes the deepest blog entries ever. No wonder he was accepted into Brown for his PhD. I miss that guy. I saw him this summer at the beach, but just a few days with the Jordans is certainly not enough.
I got accepted into Mortar Board! (Boo dues.) I really want to do a lot of my hours with Miracles in Motion; that would be ideal. I would LOVE to be around horses again, and help people in the process. That would be immensely rewarding. I just hope I'm not allergic to barns. I've been discovering new allergies left and right these last few years. My mom thinks I should consider getting allergy shots before they get bad like hers and Papa's. Hrm.
I submitted my platform to run for Vice President of the Swing Club today. When I first accepted my nomination I was really going to be happy one way or the other: I'd be happy if I did get it, but I'd be totally okay not getting it too and just going to the club and the dances whenever I pleased. But now that I've written out my qualifications for it, and talked about what I'm doing this summer and what I'd like to see happen in the club next year, I really do want it! I am running against Mehrdad and Leslie, so we'll see how that goes. I had to cut my platform down a LOT because it was full of anecdotal information initally that wasn't necessary.
BWW last night was SO fun. I crammed into the backseat of Roush's car with Mark, Heather, and Sammi while Roush and Wall were comfy in the front and we headed for some buffalo wings. Heather ended all of her sentences directed towards Roush with "shave your beard." There was much laughter, and curiously there was a balloon animal artist there! We were fascinated all night and when Wall finally got up the urge to ask the man if there was an age limit on the balloon animals, I went with him. Wall asked for a turtle and got the crappiest tiny turtle ever - completly sub-par in comparison with the rest of the things he made that night. Then I asked for a fish and I got a very cool fish. Wall was totally cheated, and we joked about it ALL day.
TIME FOR ME TO PACK AND GET READY FOR THE HAWKEYE SWING FESTIVAL STARTING TONIGHT!!!
