Chaos quelled. Now to organise the piles of stuff old and new that was relegated to boxes and hastily shelved in no particular order.
2013: the year of radical re-organization.Renovations done (badly); back home in our tiny penthouse.
Just in time for winter. At least the Japanese potted maple looks happy (crimson red in the sun this morning).Moving to a temporary flat for the summer...
...so they can renovate B-wing plumbing, and give me a new kitchen and bathroom (everybody else gets an upgrade too) . Made even more of a pain in the ass by a muscle spasm in my back that crept up on me last week. GP gave me pain meds, win, but codeine makes me nauseous, fail.
Luckily the diazepam just makes me limp, just as advertised.

...but at least flowers are blooming: the azalea flowered beautifully, and now the roses are in bud.

The drought in southeast England is severe, so we need the rain. But this weekend's forecast sun will be balm to light-parched souls everywhere.
Also, the azalea will have achieved maximum bloom, and with luck will be glorious in the sunlight and suitable for photography and sharing.... but for now, primroses on the forest floor:

Weeklong conference in Romania with old friends and new Romanian colleagues: fantastic. Venue: eco-resort on the wetland of the Danube Delta - awesome: more pelicans than you could shake a stick at - or a camera.
