I want to see this when/if it gets released here and yet I don't. It almost looks too hard to watch.

I was wondering the same myself. However I'm glad I got to see it on the big screen. I won't lied, there were a few moments, but the movie really is a must see.

I thought that too, but it wasn't too bad. There are moments of levity to make the horror Precious has to deal with a bit more bearable for the viewer. Don't let that scare you away from seeing it. I thought I'd need major chocolate therapy afterwards, but I did not.

Yes, if it opens here, I will see it. I'm usually not adverse to seeing difficult things but this one sounds so sad. But it has gotten such great reviews, I don't think I can miss it.

Token, you won't be disappointed. I highly recommend seeing the movie once it's in a theater near you.

it's released nationwide this upcoming friday, i believe.
i saw it this past thursday, and loved it. the cast is definitely amazing. i hope gabby and mo'nique get oscar noms, and the film gets a nom for best picture.

i read the book beforehand, and feel it's a much harder to read than the movie is to watch. they added quite a bit of comedy to the film, which i wasn't expecting, but i think was a great addition. it helped to soften the blows of all the harshness.

Totally agree with you 110%. Nurse John, played by Lenny Kravitz was a breath of fresh air to the whole story.

I can only imagine how jarring the book was, but I still think it's a must read. I will let you know my thoughts once I done reading. Did you finish the book?

lenny is love. he's one of the main reasons i wanted to see this film. lenny doesn't act. so i knew this was going to be epic.

i read the book after finding out it was going to be made into a film. i'm big into reading books before films. i did finish it, in 2 days. i believe it's the quickest i've ever read a book. and also, definitely, The Hardest book i've ever read. i don't regret reading it at all, but it's a tough one. yes, please let me know what you think. are we friends here? we should be lj friends, lol.
