ISO Secret Santas, Advent Calendars, Winter Fannish Projects

Dec 29, 2006 22:21

I have identified 46 active fannish Secret Santa projects for 2006. (Not all of these are strictly mediafan projects. lazytown_santa is about a Norwegian kids show, and I don't think these people are descendants of Star Trek fans. Also, 7 anime fandoms had secret santas I could identify. In addition to exchanges, there were 7 advent or calendar based projects, Read more... )

zaneetas ran a Fannish Card/Ornament Swap this year; it's the first time she's done it, but hopefully it'll happen again next year!

There's also vo_xmas for RPS fans of Viggo Mortensen and Orlando Bloom. :)

Well, there's smutty_claus, which is the het version of merry_smutmas in the HP fandom. Very large exchange...and it's been going on for a few years now.

Then there's harry_holidays, which was established a few yars ago to deal with the spillover from various over-popular xmas exchanges. That exchange (despite the fact that it was a wank magnet today), exchanges slash, het, *and* gen amongst its participants.

There are others that I don't think you have, but since the delicious listings aren't in any order that I can figure out (*g*), I can't give you more.

They're not in order, they're tagged.

When you pull up http://del.icio.us/zvi_likes_tv/secretsanta+sesa.links+2006/ there are 3 columns.

The first column is the links.

The 2nd column is the related tags. You see things like years, various fandoms, slash, het, gen, etc. These are tags that have also been used on some of the exchanges marked secretsanta+sesa.links+2006. You can cut down the list to something you can run your eyes over by selecting the + next to the tag, e.g. selecting + harry.potter will pull up the Harry Potter Secret Santas for 2006. That I know of.

I guess I will have to do some sort of interface deal to make the del.icio.us listing more human readable to those not familiar with del.icio.us

getyourtoaster's (BSG femslash) holiday ficathon stories will be posted over the next week. entries will be posted in the comm, and there will be a master list once the posting deadline is up this week.

I'm not really sure if it's what you're looking for, but I'd be more than happy to link you to the master list once it's created.

Yep, if you could drop by with a link to the masterlist, I'd really appreciate it and it will go on the delicious.

And, um, to be terribly pushy and rude, have you guys thought about using tags for your various rounds? That way someone can link to a participation round without having to wait for the masterlist to get put together.

Hey, these are good, and most of them are new to me. Thank you.

I, um, sort of failed to understand the holiday connection with the Drunken!Giles ficathon, so I didn't add it. If there's some earlier explanation...?

And I am very glad to see that there was some sort of grey's anatomy happening this year. I only realized that no one was running a GA secret santa too late this year to organize one myself. I will be checking it out eagerly.

I know that the drunk!Giles ficathon is on it's second, possibly third, year and is always in the winter time near Christmas, but otherwise, no direct holiday theme. (Though I imagine that many of the fics take place during the holiday season in order to take advantage of the drinking part of the season.)
