I feel as though I have accomplished many things today.

We carved pumpkins at the library (I'm doing an awful lot of pumpkin-carving this year...) and since they were supposed to have a literary theme, I made a Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy pumpkin with Stef. I made the pattern myself, and we both hacked it out.

Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy pumpkin. Trust me, you want to click here. )

:D

I'm afraid the templates got thrown out/mutilated, but it's fairly easy to make your own- with google image search and the picture of mine as a technical guide, it shouldn't be too hard. The difficult parts were trying to figure out how to work the main figure so it didn't break off when we were carving it (solved by keeping little tabs of pumpkin attached to it for that lovely sun-ray effect) and how to carve out such a small font (solved by lots of pumpkin shavings being forcibly ejected and landing in my hair).

I enjoy how you added the 'don't panic'. It seems to connect it even more, and is just mindlessly amusing. And the wrap being silly is much fun. Kudoes to whoever managed to capture that on film (Pathy, I suppose)... and it looks purtiful on you :)

Yeah, we figured since we had space, we should put it in.

Pathy has mad skillzors indeed. And thank you!

I think half the reason I wanted to make it was so I could post it on the internets and have people tell me how awesome it was. *lame*

Thanks! I actually don't have long enough hair for real Leia buns, but I'm going to make it one of my life goals to someday be fully capable of sporting them. Whether I'll actually sport them in public is a different matter altogether. My hypothetical children would probably be scarred for life.
