Oh man I watched the memorial on youtube all yesterday. I was 8 so I didn't see it on TV the first time, but I remember mom reading about it in the paper and little me being kinda confused and angry that he died of something that seemed to simple and easy to fix.
It made an impression on me. 'cause everytime I thought "Oh. I'll be fine" there was a little voice in the back of my head saying "you know, Jim Henson probably thought the same thing." and its motivated me to be seen for stuff even though I am feeling crappy and far from home and haven;t known my PCP's practice for years and years like at home :-/
re the back: how's your bed? I had severe back issues when I was on my old bed. (no surprise: it was an air mattress) but I've totally slept on it funny and been ruined the next week even with the new bed (of awesome)
I was too young to understand his death- I don't remember that memory from my childhood. Sesame Street was a major part of my life when I was young. I only watched public television when I was growing up.
Big Bird singing "It's Not Easy Being Green" breaks my heart.

I think the back is more of an issue of being all athletic last week and not so much otherwise. The bed is getting on in years, though...
