I do it all for the stickers

Nov 07, 2006 14:57

You know, I don't think I saw this many people on LJ imploring each other to vote two years ago.  Hm.  Anyway, I haven't seen any stories of voter angst yet, so I'll go ahead and break that trend.

They really should offer free food at these things )

people are funny

So you did get a sticker? Life is so unfair!

I had to snatch it from the table, but yes! It's all about the sticker.

It's the ultimate cautionary tale.

man, EVERYONE on my flist is bitching about voting irregularities. I showed up to my polling place to find that I was not on the list... apparently when I went to change my address and re-register to vote in MARCH they never changed my address. So I filled out a provisional ballot... it probably won't count, unless any races are really close, but at least it was in English.

I just don't understand why something as simple and important as VOTING is so damn impossible for people to prepare for. Grumble.

It's like no one actually thinks about the logistics of these things until a week in advance or something. Yes, it's a huge enterprise to take on, but it's not like we haven't done it before.

Did he have a buzz cut and a white t-shirt?

Yeah, on the scale of tiny dogs, that was one of the tiniest!

Meh. I just posted a rant about those machines.

But -- awww, for little doggies.

Yeah, I saw that. Yikes. The machines here are different, though - there's a physical wheel that you spin, and you actually click a button to make the selection. None of that touchscreen business. Plus, the printout thing was working, at least when I got there.

Ah, I misunderstood and thought you had the same touch screens. What you describe sounds better than the touch screens.

I think next time I'm doing absentee voting!
