My name is Sarah, and I am disabled.

Gaah. My prednisone is keeping me up... so I'll start with part two of my health-related entry.

I've been doing a lot of thinking this week regarding my health and status for some very obvious reasons. I never ever thought that I would have really bad food allergies - yet, there I was, anaphylactic enough to be in an emergency room after walking ( Read more... )

*hugs* Having suffered from assorted chronic health ailments over the past 20 years (and having jobs affected by it etc), I can relate to the worry and embarrassment of accepting you have a disability. I'm glad you have that option even though I would never wish what you are going through right now on anyone. (Least of all, you). The ER trips definitely worried me -- so I'm glad that Storm can and will be there to take care of you. I'm so glad you found one another.

Take care of yourself! ♥

What do healthy people think about with all of the time we use to think about our health needs?

Have you ever applied for disability?

I'm finding that the ER trips worried a lot of people - which worries me. Mentally I'm still that invincible 20-something, but I came pretty close to some badness on Wednesday. I think that that scared me into some reality.

I'm so lucky to have Storm. When I tell people that I'm the lucky one out of the two of us I'm really not kidding.

Thanks for the well-wishes, hon. [heart]

*hugs* I think both the disabilities and getting Storm as a service dog are good things. Unfortunate, perhaps, but good. You definitely deserve it, and yeah--way better to have Storm there to alert you and help than not to! I look forward to the pictures of him in the vest. *hugs* Take care.

I'm glad that you feel that way; your opinion really matters quite a bit to me.

I'm glad that I don't have to have him with me all the time, though I may reach that level someday. These things tend to get worse as one gets older.

I am so lucky to have Storm. Pics will come as soon as the vest comes!

I am glad you are safe and feeling a little better. <3

I love Storm so much! Storm is so sensitive and sweet. He loves you and is looking after you. He does not want anything bad to happen to you.

That is really awful about losing your job. I hope that you will be able to get the help and support that you need. I have had Rheumatoid Arthritis for over 10 years. They say that 65 percent of Rheumatoid Arthritis patients are so severely disabled after 5 years of the disease that they are unable to work. So, I have been very fortunate in that I am still mobile and able to be active. However, I still get very, very fatigued, mostly, because of the swelling. I cannot explain how tired I get. On top of that, I think I am experiencing a thyroid imbalance, so I am even more tired than usual.

PS. Your skin always looks so beautiful ER or no ER. My skin is so sensitive. I am always having problems with it.

Also, nebulizers have changed a LOT since I last used one. When I last used one, it was connected to a tank and wheeled around. Does that nifty thing use cartrages or something?
