Congratulations!!! She is beautiful. I love the way she is looking at you in the first picture, so much love.

I'm so glad that despite the birth being incredibly intense and terrifying that everything ended up being just fine. <3

Not even going to lie, this made me so so thankful for my crappy c-section birth! I would have been so gut wrenchingly vomitous terrified, I just can't even imagine.

I am really glad things turned out ok though. The docs said she's fine?

She seems to be! That first day, she was very very sleepy, difficult to get her to nurse, but she picked it up over the course of the night. Beardo read afterwards about breech births and realized how awful it could have turned out, and said that he remembers the umbilical cord still being dark and engorged when she came out, so luckily her oxygen supply wasn't cut off too soon like we had feared. He was really worried about brain damage before that. The midwife said the umbilical cord was unusually thick, which made it harder to compress, and that is another blessing for us.
