Slice, Poke, Chop-Chop, Stab-Cut

I had the surgery today, and it was a highly unamusing process.  First of all, when I walked in flanked by the two nurses/medical assistants, one of them asked, "Now, are we doing your shoulder or your back today?  It's written down as both on the chart."

Eyes widening, I stammered, "Uh, that would be my shoulder, and now with ten percent more ( Read more... )

Yeah, because I'm all John Wayne and everything! RAWR!

I got the Vicodin, so that's taken care of. I have to say that everything up until they finished was great, especially for what I paid for it. It was just the after-patient care that sucked. There was no getting around the unpleasantness of the procedure, because it is what it is.

On the plus side, I now have extra grue that I can use for National Novel Writing Month this year. It's horror time baby, yeah!

Just call me The Duke. However, make sure it is not The Dook. It was an interesting experiment that I don't really care to have repeated any time soon.

I am reminded of the time when I had stitches put into my arm without an anesthetic.

I was three. This was done very much against my will. I'm now 22 and I still hope that whoever I kicked wound up with broken ribs.

In the meantime, *hugs*

Oh, jeez. That's bad; the same thing happened to the top of my dome when I was six. It was highly unpleasant.

May your next ER encounter be pain-free.

I'm not ashamed to say I would have been crying like a baby during that. Mostly cause I'm scared to death of needles and things getting stuck into my skin.

Hopeful the prescription helps kick the worst of the pain for you. At the most they should have offered you prescription strength Tylenol.

Much appreciation on the support. I was initially bummed when they began that I wasn't going to be allowed to watch what they were doing, but that feeling passed soon enough.

I am on the Vicodin Express, and things are better now.

I'm way out of the loop. What did you need surgery for?

Reading this made me so fucking nauseous and nervous. I hate hospitals. I really hope the medicine helps, though. The pain must be a huge bitch.

Sorry about the nausea and such that I induced... if you think this is bad, just wait until I kick out the jams for National Novel Writing Month this year. It's time fror me to make a return to the horror genre. :D

Ah, holy shit. I'm glad you got that gunk removed, and I hope you feel better :]

Speaking of horror, have you seen the latest Stephen-King novel-turned-Hollywood-movie 1408? Most of his work doesn't translate well into films, but I heard this one was good.

Thank you. Nope, don't really have any desire to see it until maybe it comes out on Netflix. I'm a big John Cusak guy, but I think this one will get the pass, especially since the story it was based on was a real zero.

I'm glad you've got that over with. I hope the pain goes away soon.

Thank you. The dryness of my mouth says the Vicodin is working fine. Chalk up one for the good guys.
