This is the first thing I thought of when I contemplated the pairing. Owls sound vaguely cuddly, but … they eat bats for breakfast!
At least batarang starts with a fucking B!
*chokes on tea* Ha! This was the line you were referring to earlier, right? I have one interweb acronym word for you, and that word is OMGLOLILU.
It infuriates him, seeing the weakness there, the softness where he is hard.
Augh. Of course! I didn't ponder the fact that Owlman would find it equally as sickening, seeing his face arranging itself around a different moral compass-in lines of nobility or mercy, god forbid. It's a wake-up call for both of them.
"(…) If you're me, we learned that early."
*flailflailflail* What makes a Bat a Bat or an Owl an Owl? The scatter-shot of pearls hitting the floor of a grimy alleyway, that's what.
(it's not a smile; it's not)
Lovely echo of J here, particularly in reference to a smile of all things.
And that's something that doing this with the-to the--clown can't give him.Yeah, yeah-with the/to the ( ... )

Also, owls. There is something called an Owlbear in D&D which is a bear with an owl head, which I thought was the stupidest thing ever until I went to a hawk show that had owls and I realized those things are fucking HUGE and TERRIFYING. Whereas in real life, bats are adorable.
and yeah, fic focuses on how Bats feels about it, but I think Owlman would be way bothered. Seeing yourself on the other side of the morality compass sucks regardless of where you start from.
the scatter-shot of pearls hitting the floor of a grimy alleyway, that's what.ugh, so good. When you finally finish some fic I am going to be ALL OVER IT ( ... )

I'm fascinated by that moment in BB where Bruce doesn't get to shoot Chill. It's like his whole life is hinged on this one moment of unfulfilled catharsis. I'm not sure how that translates into 'mercy', because it wasn't mercy that stopped him, just being pipped to the post by the fake!reporter, but it seems important and interlinked somehow.

I am thriiilled that you enjoyed the smacktalk. I really think Owlman's reaction to Batman, besides the obvious rage, is to feel insulted and insulting, because he finds the good guy thing so weak. One of my favorite lines is the one about the cave you quoted back, so I'm like, ahhh. <3 ( ... )

Ha, yes, I love the quips and pet names - what's fighting without witty repartee, after all? Also, forgot to say I love the references to Jokester in this - and the suggestions of what Owlsie does to him...ow. Man. Oh, I DO hope you write some with him in it! *cough*as you said*cough*
Wow, can't wait for more! Really can't wait to see how Bruce deals with it - I do hope he finds some friendly vigilantes to help him... And yeah, the twisted reasoning behind it, as you said, REALLY works...
Can't wait for the next installment! :D I think I must friend you, if you don't mind, so I can read more of your writing. :) Oh, and on my writing journal, in case you wonder why two very similar sounding people are friending you at once - I try to keep track of things that way and fail, usually...anyway! Basically, can't wait for MORE!!!!!!!! :D

We like enthused here!
UGGHHH I meant for this to be a quick, like, side project thing, but now I totally want to write a bunch of Owlman and Jokester, quips and knives and sex and all. /facepalm I could work in this verse forevveerrr.
Friended you back, of course. :) Will browse your ficcage and maybe finally post the next Earth-3 installment. But I am distracted by my Secret Santa prompt. D:

Oooh, I would love it so much if you kept writing more in this 'verse! It's addicting, it really is. :)
And now I must go catch up on fic, now the madness of Christmas is over! :D
