Escapism

I need more fun high fantasy books in my life. I want to read about worlds where magic exists, and poop doesn't.

I've read all of Guy Gavriel Kay, all of Jordan, the Coldfire trilogy by CS Friedman, and just finished Trudi Canavan's Black Magician trilogy.

Give me more recommendations!

Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrel. You have read this, no? It should keep you occupied (and entranced!) for a while. And have you read Philip Pullman's trilogy beginning with the Golden Compass? It's ostensibly for young adults, but good nonetheless.

Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrel.

I second this. She's got a book of short stories in the same vein, too.

C is reading to me the Bartimaeus trilogy, if you haven't hit that one. Jonathan Stroud.

Not quite fantasy, but I'd have to say anything by Verner Vinge. Also, I'm a fan of Ursala Le Guin Esp: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Wizard_of_Earthsea
