I only saw the first season of torchwood and the first ep of the 2nd season (and Capt Jack and Capt John's fight/sex scene was HAWT, and that's from someone who really can't stand violence in tv/movies

Yeah, that kiss was the only example of Gwen being anything other than straight. "The alien made her do it" and I think the character shrugs it of as "thing I did while under the influence."
I hadn't thought about the fact that Willow really appears to be a bi character too. I didn't watch religiously so I missed where ever she came out. I wonder why they made her a lesbian instead of just in love with a woman? Or is that the pop culture definition of lesbian?
If you don't want to watch things where everyone dies and it's bleak and hopeless, just skip this season entirely.
