When I write, I always feel the need to explain everything. This results in me going crazy more often than not. I'm always thinking "Okay BUT WHY did so and so do that?" OMG! I have a tornado chasing AU that I have tried as both an SPN and a J2 fic and every time I get so caught up in trying to get technical details that I don't understand right that I forget to do important things like make the plot move forward. I will sit for 2 hours looking a weather charts and write maybe 1 sentence.

So, I feel your pain. :/

I know right? Like, you wanna get it right, but then when do you stop pushing for "right" in order to get it written

Exactly! I think what scares me is I really know *nothing* about the subject. I've been researching for more than a year and I know a lot more than when I started, but I'm so scared that's not enough.

At least with the wheelchair!Jensen AU, I've spent a good deal of time with a person in that condition, so I have RL experience to draw upon. With the tornado chasing fic, all I've got is the movie Twister, which is to real storm chasers what Armageddon is to actual science.

I really hear that. And you know, as long as you don't let it completely crush you to the point where you can't write the fic, I think it'll make it awesome and strong and credible.

Thanks! It's so hard not to get too wrapped up in the details, and yet still make sure that things sound plausible and believable.
