[ Guilford has been absent for some time. The man has no recollection of how -- or even precisely when -- he made it to the temple. Not even after he woke up and left.

On his way to the city proper, he makes his presence (and irritation) known. ]

This is Guilford. [ Said as if those who might still be around, if they are, need that introduction ( Read more... )

[ She's rushing.

Which is silly, considering she really hasn't any need to end up anywhere at any time. She feels like she should be rushing though, like she should be caring enough about something to need to be there.

Even if it's just her little apartment, to restock her poor, ravaged refrigerator.

It was all for a good cause, though. She made some people happy. (Regrettably, some people sick.) Perhaps she can do it again some day. ... After the others recover.

But in her rush, she neglects to watch where she's going, and as she half-twists to look over a particular architecture that she passes by on her way home from the store, she winds up crashing against another swiftly moving body, and down she goes...

along with all the bags in her arms. ]

Ah, but it hadn't, ne? So it all works out well enough~!

[ Whereas Orihime's skill resides in finding that ill-sought-after silver lining. They should fight crime. ]

[ A muted sigh. That sort of optimism can be so tiring. ] So it seems.

[ The collision threw off his sense of direction, so he spent a moment looking around to get his bearings. ] Which direction were you headed in, miss?

[ Exhausting. But someone's got to do it. ]

Ah - Earth district. And - please - it's Orihime!

I am Gilbert G.P. Guilford. [ A short bow of his head. To think there was once a day where he would not have bothered to introduce himself to an Eleven Japanese person. They appear to be common enough in this place to make him wonder. ] Guilford, if you please.

I believe this is where we part ways, then. [ Gesturing. ] My residence is down that road, Miss Orihime.

A-Ah... yes! It was nice to meet you, Guilford-san, I... good luck?

Mm. [ Not entirely disagreeing. Social interactions are not his forte but, to that end, how pleasant of a conversation can you make with someone who just ran into him?

He thinks he's done rather well, all told.

--though he does pause. ] Should fighting break out once more, is cooking the only skill you have to offer? [ No doubt, he's already trying to organize his various sources and contacts into various categories based on apparent usefulness. ]

[ She can't help it - when he spoke to her, she straightened, eyes wide and snapped to attention. As if she were in the military...

His question gives her pause though, something uneasy settling on her features. ]

I - can heal. [ She frowns. ] But not as well as I used to. And... I have no experience with weapons but - I've had training in hand-to-hand...

[ If she detects some surprise in his tone, she'd be right. ] You had powers before arriving in this world? [ It didn't sound like she meant "healing" in the sense a medic or doctor might. ]

--oh, ah... yes. Before I woke up here, I was able to shield, attack, and heal with my Shun Shun Rikka. Ah, my soul... powers... [ It always sounds so weird when she has to explain it. ]

I... see. [ It sounds even weirder to be on the receiving end, believe him.

Flatly. ] Soul powers.

Well--!

[ She's going to do her best to explain this as well as possible. ]

They're our soul, manifested into a tangible form! Usually they take on the form of a sword, like the Soul Reapers', but sometimes they take on other forms. Mine come from my hairclips, and they take on the form of six fairy-like figures!

[ There. That wasn't weird at all, right? ]

Fairies. [ Good Lord, he hopes this one isn't ... touched.

Guilford blinks. ] I suppose that sounds about as otherwordly as everything else I have heard since arriving here.

[ ...he has no pressing to decline, other than the urge to return to the safety (and sanity) of his residence.

Guilford nods, and takes a cautionary step away, hands clasped behind his back. ]

[ At that, Orihime stands back, offering enough room between them. She frees up a hand to lift to her chest (a needless habit) and touches her fingers to a pair of hairclips pinned there. There is a sudden flash of golden light that streak in the air and then--

six fairy-like figures appear around her, hovering nearby, peering at Guilford curiously. ]

Guilford-san, meet Ayame, Hinagiku, Baigon, Lily, Shun'ō, and Tsubaki!
