YAY first!! Okay firstly, LOVE the details. I always love the richness of details you include - it's weird, even after being the beta and reading this stuff as you write it, when it's put together in this order it's like brand new. From just before the first day of school to halloween to Christmas and then valentines day, it's just the details, the stuff we wanna see, stuff we related to - and I swear you are like answering a gazillion kid!fic prompts with your one part. Which is awesome, cos it saves me from bugging ppl at kinkmeme for a cute quotient :D You keep that promise to do one a week, you hear!
Oh my goodness, oh my goodness! I love this so much, I don't know what to do~! Your characterizations are awesome, and, as mentioned above, your attention to detail is amazing. You include just enough to paint the scenes but not so much as to overwhelm them. This chapter brought back memories of my own elementary school Valentine's Day shenanigans. ♥♥♥
Too cute! Also, so angsty. On the one hand, I feel bad for poor neglected Jim, but Jim just seems to let it roll off and couldn't care less about his broken home so long as Spock gives him the time of day. On the other hand, Spock doesn't have it so easy when he changes between lifestyles, where in one he's told to act completely different from what the other lifestyle tells him to do. Boths kids have it rough and need a friend in each other. Gah, just too cute. I can't wait for more.
yeah, jimmy's got such a laser focus on Spock he doesn't seem to care about much else. which is probably for the best! for spock, yes, on the surface it's very easy, but inwardly, not so much...
