Don't ever describe any bike, no matter how inexpensive or dilapidated, as "a piece of crap."

"If you're a guy, don't try to be a mentor to every female cycler you meet."

Srsly. You can even drop the "cycler" part and it's STILL good advice for a lot of guys. (not you. duh.)

That list makes me want my bike back even more. I think it's time for Molly to get her own. And time for me to watch Breaking Away again, too.

Yes, get your bike back. It's too lovely for you to not ride it. :)

True. :) Plus it'll give me an excuse to buy new shoes.

There are people who care whether their wheels match?
There are people who HAVE matching wheels?

I like the list. I'm assuming that's Grant Peterson writing that, coz he sounds grouchy. Dunno about the 'buy the cheapest helmet that fits' part -- I'm a little picky in the saving-my-brain department (buy the one with the most/thickest foam.) But generally speaking, yeah, good words.

I also totally dig their general approach to parts and such. Love the downtube-to-barend converters.

I am soooo happy to have a functioning bicycle. THX! :D

I even rode to school and back on Sunday. I need to adjust the front brake with the new tires, tho. And I'd like to get a light and reflectiveness for safe night riding. I should also probably get my own helmet.

Thanks for the list. I will be studying it.

20/20 is a great shop. They'll set you up right with lights.

For a helmet I suggest a place with a ton of variety, like REI or Greggs. Try a bunch on and get one that fits your head well enough that it doesn't fall off when you bend over (without the strap buckled).

Yay bikes!
