Yoga was great, and I really like the place that is offering the classes. The Samarya Center is a non-profit studio with a mission to make yoga accessible to everyone. To that end, their classes are very affordable, and they go out and work with people who can't come into the studio (hospice, etc.) The fact that it's walking distance from my house ( Read more... )

congrats! I believe samarya is also the place that has FREE yoga classes on saturday morning, no?
buy your own mat. You'll eventually tire of the stinky ones in class. Plus it's gear, and we all love gear.

Yep, free saturday classes. 11-noon, maybe?

And yes, I'll probably give into the gear bug and get a mat. Maybe I'll make a leather case, just to be different. :)

uh, sorry, did that slip out? Gee, I need to get my practice going regularly again...

Gear recommendation: if you really plan to do this on a regular basis, invest in a good thick mat, not the kind they sell at basic retailers. They will sooner, rather than later begin flaking off bits of mat. And that's just annoying.

Samarya is awesome! We used to go there a couple times a week until we moved. Now I can't justify a 25 minute commute to yoga class....
