Yoga was great, and I really like the place that is offering the classes. The Samarya Center is a non-profit studio with a mission to make yoga accessible to everyone. To that end, their classes are very affordable, and they go out and work with people who can't come into the studio (hospice, etc.) The fact that it's walking distance from my house

congrats! I believe samarya is also the place that has FREE yoga classes on saturday morning, no?
buy your own mat. You'll eventually tire of the stinky ones in class. Plus it's gear, and we all love gear.

And yes, I'll probably give into the gear bug and get a mat. Maybe I'll make a leather case, just to be different. :)

Good idea! I may start by making a leather cary strap for my new (just ordered) bright yellow mat.

The Sat community classes are a blast. We all take turns teaching them. If you go, get there early, like by 10:45, because it fills up and we have to cut it off after 20 folks or so.
