I got Spud's ashes back. I expected there to be more of them, considering his size, but there was only a fairly small bag. Now I just need to find a good urn to keep him in. I'm considering this one because of the picture and the spot for a paw print (the vet told me she'd make one for me ( Read more... )

Doing a little better today, though I'm still prone to random crying. And not so random crying, like when I walk by his bed and reach down to pet him out of habit. When I realize he's not there it's enough to bring me to my knees ( Read more... )

Spud passed away today at the vet's office. The autopsy showed that he had a large amount of fluid surrounding his brain, meaning that he likely threw a clot. They say he went quickly and painlessly despite resuscitation attempts. However, I was not there with him, and that is going to haunt me forever, even though the vet says he likely wouldn't ( Read more... )

I have a job!I'll be working as a vet tech at a local no-kill shelter's spay/neuter clinic. It's nothing glamorous, but that's OK. It's a JOB. And after doing two working interviews I can say that I really like the environment and the people there (the other tech is a hoot to be around ( Read more... )

OK. So. I went to that interview last Tuesday. We shot the breeze, he asked me questions like how I felt about venipuncture, and stuff like that. At one point he asked me to explain what I did when I monitored surgery, and when I told him he said, "Oh good!
