I've been wanting to post something substantial for a while, but this isn't it. I was just watching a lazy evening of TV and something really struck me, so I thought I'd toss it up here. (Pardon if it waxes a little dramatic, my late-night thoughts tend to do that

I think I must be one of the few liberal people in the country who hasn't actually watched/listened to him speak. Still, I'm a helluva lot more hopeful about the state of the nation now than I have been for, well, for at least eight years. Possibly even longer than that. Clinton was a very good president (despite what the conservatives say), but even during his presidency I didn't have the same feeling of hope that I do now.

Man, Obama is almost being made out to be some kind of messiah-like figure. Gonna need to watch that.

The fact is the president no matter who he is, is only as good as his staff etc

I moved here last year and I love it.

Hell I'm glad I voted for him. He's taken steps to significantly raise my departments budget and give us more authority.

Plus he's the only pres thats ever appeared on with leno. Thats like reaching out to people in a way that hasn't been done before.

Oh sure, I've got my criticisims too, but it should be an interesting ride.
