It was still perplexing Dayna that she hadn't found a way off the station yet. It was in fact very irritating. She knew that the Doctor was looking, but she had a feeling that he was going to take off and not come back. That's what she expected out of men like him, anyway. She was surprised that Avon had returned as often as he did ( Read more... )

As much as Avon regretted losing control of the Liberator - God knew what had happened to it after his departure - he was not entirely displeased at finding himself on the mysterious station. True, he wasn't thrilled about being kidnapped by people he had never even met, but he was fed and sheltered, and there was a great deal of interesting technology to explore. Focussing on what he might be able to get out of the situation allowed him to push his crewmates' fates to the back of his mind.

Mostly, anyway.

In the spirit of exploration - or casing the joint, to put it less politely - Avon found himself in what appeared to be engineering. A woman was already there, and it looked as though her goal was similar to his. He approached her silently.

ooc: feel free to have her hear his clumsy self 'sneaking up' and punch him on reflex, or whatever, if you want ;)

He made it a fair distance before he heard the shift of feet, and on reflex she turned sharply and almost almost grabbed at Avon's throat. But then she recognized him, eyes widening.

"...Avon!" Her voice rang with as much surprise as her expression did. Relief as well. Had he survived too? She hoped that he had. She wasn't going to say that, however. Instead she was going to stare at him like he might de-materialize at any moment.

Avon eyed her cautiously, backing off a pace or two, hands held up. He was unarmed, and she was alarmingly fast. Apparently his reputation preceded him - or his name did, at any rate. Why was she staring at him like that?

"You seem to have me at a disadvantage," he said, evenly. "And that is a situation I'm not especially fond of. Who are you?"

"What do you mean who am I?"

How could he not remember her? After all they'd been through. After-

"...They did it to you, too. Is that what happened? Just like with Blake. After we went to Gauda Prime.... You have to remember, Avon." She had a feeling she was going to need Vila's help, as despite his feelings he could manage a more tender hand.
