Laura was in Ops, and she was surrounded by coordinates, maps, pictures of Earth as she understood it looked during the time Sally was from, and the book of Pythia. All of the notes she had from viewing the map to Earth in the tomb of Athena were scatted around various surfaces as well as she leaned over a table. Her glasses were on, and she was ( Read more... )

The Doctor finally made his way back to Ops, looking tired though Gallifreyan physiology usually lent to a lack of fatigue. Maybe he was just tired. Or the idea of what he would have to do was tiring.

Whichever it was, he was actually surprised to see Laura when he entered, even if it was a situation she should be there for. He still needed to inform her of his other discovery.

"So you know that Captain Kirk is planning an expedition to the planet," he announced, throwing his hat to rest on the edge of a computer.

Laura looked up over the rim of her glasses. "I'd heard as such, but based on my track record of going planet side, I think that I'll set that particular venture out. One of my pilots from Galactica, however, has volunteered to be my eyes."

She took off her glasses and looked at The Doctor for a moment. "What do you make of all this? Why Precambrian Earth?"

"It means this one's been destroyed before its time.... My favorite is covered with soft green grass, and swelling cities full of creative people." He had a seat near her as she worked, folding his arms on her console and giving her a hopeful look.

"It's a good sign for you, isn't it? Knowing that it's out there in some shape or form. Can you show me some of the constellations that are near your world? Dots on a paper or calling them up on a computer..."

Laura handed him over a stack of papers, including one that had a picture of the Lagoon Nebula. "It is good, it means that the direction I've been pushing the fleet in, the idea that Earth is out there is right. Now it's just trying to make sure we have the right land marks. We've found the Lion Head's Nebula, now we just have to get back on track from that point. Admittedly, this isn't my precise area of expertise. It was our young adviser, Gaeta, who knew these things."

((ooc: I do not know of a place that lists constellations from the world of BSG, unfortunately.))
