I've never actually bought a pet. Where I come from, someone's mutt always had puppies or some cat had kittens.

And the vet is someone really expensive you avoid, so if the pet gets sick... meh. And if the cat had unwanted kittens, you kill them.

At least the people I knew were like that.

I could never just kill a kitten. :( My pets are fixed and if they get sick or hurt I find a way to afford a vet!

I wish there were harder punishments for people who are irresponsible with their pets.

It was the same when I grew up, rural enviroment.
But since a like animals a lot, I searched for a job with animals, and ended up in the pet shop. Never been inside one before I started working there.
