Oooh! Thank you for this! I love your boys in this universe and I love this little snapshot of them here *just moving in*. Like John, I can already see him doing the work on the house, making it a home, making it the real home he's always wanted--just for him and Rodney.

“Me either,” he said. He’d spent most of his life moving around. This seemed like the perfect place to stop. This was just perfect--even though he hadn't turned in his old key yet. Oh,John. Always with one foot straddling the threshold, just in case.

Rodney is sure though, and you can see that John relies on that. :-)
