Ahh, the time for marathoning this whole season comes closer for me, then! Mid-june, I am clearing my schedule! Meanwhile, enjoy the finale in real time, bb!

Oo, interesting, you've been waiting the whole season? It'll be interesting to see how it runs in marathon form. On one hand I can see it being easier to take, on the other hand, that's alot of minutes in a row where nothing interesting happens. I long for the years when I used to rerun the whole season in preparation for the finale, three years and counting, I haven't been able to bring myself to do it.

I didn't do it by conscious plan, to tell the truth. At the beginning I just wanted to finish a post-season six fic I had in the works (still a WIP, hahaha *sigh*), and then I knew they had gotten rid of Castiel and I wasn't in a hurry to catch up. And then it occurred to me that Supernatural seasons usually work better in big batches, where you follow the seasonal arcs more than focusing on the single episodes, and so I thought I'd just wait until the end of the season and go for it. Coincidentally RL has been crazy-busy this year and as Things Get Accomplished I should find myself with a lot of free time mid-June, so... it all works out in the end ;-P

I had to basically drop out of fandom to remain (largely) unspoiled, so I'm also looking forward to go back digging for stuff over the summer.

This is an awesome playlist! Thanks for putting it together :D Seems like good music to draw to :3

I finally, finally threw in the towel with SPN. I just can't bear to watch it anymore, and like you, it's doubly painful because this season started out SO GOOD. The first handful of S7 eps were legitimately GREAT, I still think "Hello, Cruel World" is one of the best episodes of the series (!) and things seemed to be shaping up wonderfully. And then just... nothing. They ACTUALLY did the "Castiel fixes everything yay!" magic cure and that's when I officially quit. I knew it was coming, you could fucking see it coming from a mile away, but they actually DID IT and I just couldn't deal anymore :|

Thanks for an amazing few years, SPN, it's been real. But not even I am that much of a masochist, and this is where we part ways. We'll always have S1&2, and I'll think of you fondly when I'm not too busy in the throes of pon farr with Avengers.

Thanks! Glad you can enjoy it! I kinda love it for itself on its own, even if the season is sucking, it's become divorced from this playlist. All my headcanons from this season seem to live in these songs, kinda like I'd love to vid them, if I could give a crap about the show anymore. I can't afford the show that good grace, there's too much better stuff out there this year I'm dying to work with instead ( ... )

I will always be attached to Sam and Dean, but that's kind of the reason why I had to stop watching. This isn't Sam and Dean anymore, the show has completely forgotten everything that made them WHO THEY ARE and what made them interesting and wonderful and fucked up and glorious in the first place. I pretty much summed it all up in an impromptu meta/rant here, two months ago. That was before 7.17 aired, and you'll notice my tags ( ... )

I am SOOOO sorry I was remiss at THANKING YOU FOR ALL THESE LINKS! I've been plugging away at thesis crap and trying to forget I still haven't seen this silly movie yet. SORRY JOSS. But that there you described is EXACTLY what I've found so daunting about it, all the different universes and authors and versions and stuff. So all the links are an amazing help. Especially in explaining Steve/Tony! I've seen it everywhere and I...guess I need to see the movie, huh? HA ( ... )

I kind of feel like you do about the show losing heart with Sam and Dean. I still enjoy it, but there's just something...maybe it's heart. I did enjoy how they ended the finale. It gives me many ideas of where they can go from here.

Hi! Getting back to this post two weeks later. I've been thesising away and trying not to think about this...

So you're feeling it too? *sigh* It still just makes me so sad. It was just missing so much of its emotional content that used to keep me so invested in the characters. Without it, a show just feels flat and anemic. And unfortunately, not really worth my time. I watch my shows for the emotional component. If they strip that away, why watch?

The ending really. There's many awesome ways they could go with it. But thinking about that just leaves me exhausted, because there were so many ways S7 could have been awesome and they just dropped the ball completely. So disheartening. I'm afraid I'm not the best cheerleader these days. :/

This looks really good and since that finale has me depressed, I really need to drown it out with music too. Is this playlist downloadable or can we only listen to it online? :)
