The Writers Strike accomplished what again?

Because it sure as hell didn't do much on the pointless remake/reboot/re-imagine/(no matter what new word gets invented, not fooling anybody) front.

Could have done a continuation. Maybe mix things up a little and switch the roles and have Twigs be a Crow. Just leave the writers alone and let them be creative. But, ( Read more... )

The film gets so much criticism on FB, it's almost comical!
I'll probably watch it but not at the cinema.
Oh, and they're re-making "Highlander", too. Why???

I agree with you, there are waaaaaay too many movies that are sequels or ripoffs of other movies or based on comic books, video games or TV shows. More of these movie people need to think up something original.

The thing is, the Crow even has sequels in the comics. They don't need to do a reboot. Especially with like a lot more sex and glitz.

Meanwhile there's countless books and stories that would make for fresh and interesting movies, but being passed over in favor of "This made lots of money before, going to milk it and squeeze out every last drop."

In general I despise remakes for exactly this reason. I don't need a new take on an old story, but this is what the ultra-conservative play-it-safe North American entertainment industry thrives upon, sigh.
