This hurts my heart. I adore your words. And I adore your Tommy. I've never wanted to be a fictional character's friend, but he is the only exception. I would like to be there for him. Gah! How you do that?

Love it. Every bit of it.

Thank you. Tommy is both the most fragile and the strongest person I've ever written (or had appear in my head). He feels so deeply and yet he can crawl out of holes some people could never manage.

Aww poor Tommy, he's having such a rough time. The part at lunch where him and Adam could barely look at each other was sad.
Good on him for not drinking though, and for realising its not just Adam that he wants to be around for, and that he's let others be close to him.

Thank you. Yeah, Adam is very hurt. I don't think he knows how much Tommy really wants to make it better. But school isn't the place for it.

I honestly sometimes wonder how Tommy can keep refusing. I guess he's ready to deal with being sober, so he made his mind up.

Yeah, me too. He's very fragile here.

I've said it before and I'll probably say it again! I LOVE your Tommy. He's fragile and vulnerable. He's strong and courageous. He loves with his whole being...it's possible I see myself in him.
Your writing never stops to amaze me you got a wonderful insight to the human mind and you put it so beautifully into words that touch all of us.
Thank you for sharing this with us.
♥♥ hugs, Kia♥♥

Awwww, thank you.

Tommy is both easy to understand and hard to write, for me. Sometimes I really don't want this stuff to happen to him! But he's an amazing...character. (I've been living with him in my head so much that 'character' doesn't seem right.)

Your love for Tommy (in this story) shows.... I think it might be what makes him so easy to love for the rest of us too. Oh muses decide where the story goes...not the love for the character. And bad things happen to good people in real life and in fiction. I just hope that his strength gets him through the bad things and that he'll be strong enough to give Adam the time to grow too.
hugs, Kia

Good for Tommy; he's making progress, even if he doesn't always see it. I think sometimes he worries about things that he doesn't really need to (don't we all!), and doesn't always see the real problem in certain situations. That's life, though, and part of growing up. I like that he just keeps moving forward. Better than shutting down!

"One foot in front of the other" isn't such a bad tactic really. He processes and talks things over plenty, after all. But he can't do that at school, and at least Kris understood when Tommy explained it.

Tommy still has a tendency to apologize for his existence still. He's getting better about it.
