That's pretty much exactly how I felt when the Saints won the Superbowl (Super Bowl? idk) I hate sports and don't even know...anything about them at all really, but the excitement here was contagious. Fireworks, horns, people yellin WHO DAT and grinning, it was a nice moment to live in New Orleans and I'm glad I was here for it.
Hee, I'm a huge lifelong Vikes fan, so I was on a huge hate for the Saints after they crushed my superbowl dreams, but I have to admit, they played beautifully.
I slept through the it because of my crappy work schedule. But I awoke to hear we had won and that was fucking awesome! SUCK IT EVERYONE ELSE IN THE WORLD!
I totally forgot you were Canadian...? (don't know how that happened, lol) But my boyfriend is also Canadian, though transplanted in the US, and he's been following the Olympics like crazy. Not necessarily *watching* them, but following what's going on and stuff. He's got the same kind of "Yay Canada!" attitude right now that you've got. It's positively adorable and awesome. ^_^ I wish I felt that way when they had the Olympics in the US. Most of the time I just kinda ignore them.
