Hey man, "dory" is "spear". And that's awesome. I figure "digger" is battle-related, so his Greek name should be. "Hopper" just didn't have the right ring to it, yanno?
If you should be laughing at anyone, it should be poor Clyde. You'd think Greek parents would know better than to name their son "beautiful". It's almost too sad to laugh though. Lighter, lighter...Well, Roscoe is "Rhama", which is "a lofty place". And HOW!
Sorry, I was just thinking about Bowie's Hunky Dory and don't actually know a smidge of Greek :o) "Digger" is indeed battle-related - somewhat - because it's Australian military slang for "soldier", so you're not far off with "spear" (pretty badass, too!) "Hopper"... reminds me of some scary giant rabbit :D
Roscoe is "a lofty place?! I second your "And HOW!" :P
Well it does sound a bit ridiculous to the modern ear: The phalanx of hoplites hunkered down behind their aspis and thrust their dory[s] to the fore. Fun fact: the counter-balance of a dory is a "lizard-killer
( ... )
Sharing is caring! (And all that other trite but true stuff.)
Disney + Greek Mythology + Rogues = too much Awesome to ignore. I had to do it. I mean, Piper was a satyr once. And with the others catcalling and jeering in amusement in a tiny happyverse-ish AU bubble in my head, that translated so well to The Muses when I heard the song. We know allllll about those Ancient Greek guys. Girls don't exist for them. Except Elysia, but she may as well be one of the boys. I'm pretty sure Rhama is her eromenos, hahaha!

Also, thanks for another means to snicker at Boomer's expense. I love the guy (really, he's okay in a Digger sort of way) but... Dory? Love that :D
