Quick AU run-down:
Ioannes = James. Either a normal mortal or a demi-god, he's a bit cagey about which it is. He has magical flying sandals at any rate, and a hat worthy of his patron deity.
Aulos = Piper. He wasn't always like this. When Aulos' bastard parents finally realized that their son couldn't hear, they tried to pray to the gods to heal him so they wouldn't be thought of as freaks/unfortunates. Well. We all know how the gods like to fuck around with mortals. I'd like to think Apollo took this case himself. I mean, he did owe the world a satyr...
Markos = Mark. The second obviously non-human of the group (to reflect his power status), Markos and his more mortal brother are the sons of a human and a Hyad (a weather nymph). Kallias didn't live long after he learned why you don't refuse Zeus. At least, that's Markos' story, leaving out who - exactly - Kallias was being faithful to. Markos is still dealing with the unintentional power-up being too close.
Leon = Len. The man's as mortal as they come, but he has the heart of his namesake; a very old, crotchety, dethroned lion, even when he was young. He looks a bit richer than I intended.
Mikha = Mick. Another mortal who is unusually loyal to Leon, despite their equal ages. He looks like a bit of a sweetheart and honours Hestia the most among these foreign gods, but don't piss him off or you will burn.
Dory = Digger. He doesn't look it, but this skinny Phoenician guy is an alpha-class athlete. (It's always the wiry ones!) He's also a pretty good soldier, if a wielder of unorthodox weaponry. Jaw bones and the like.
Samoul = Sam. Another bit of a warrior, but actually more interested in the natural philosophies. He's particularly fond of the permutations of light and its ability to mimic the elements.
They have a bevy of magical and clever items tucked away, just like any mythical band worth their salt!
I haven't really developed the others as much as in some of my other AU ideas, but I figure it's enough to set the plotbunnies loose!
And the song that inspired me many moons ago. A quartet mash-up of "Can You Feel the Love Tonight", "Won't Say I'm In Love", "Let's Get Together", and "Belle". Yes, I love Disney.
