As catsfiction says, you observe the little moments beautifully; the way the Doctor understands her feelings and her need for comfort and just holds her hand. It's a gorgeous moment of closeness, and it makes perfect sense that in that moment of high emotion she'd kiss him.
And it's also so Donna, so them, that it would end in humour:
"Did that do anything for you?" he asks matter-of-factly.
Donna shrugs. "Not really, no."
"Oh, good, me neither."
Perfect! And
"I never fancy nutters anyway."
"No, me neither. ...Ow. Sorry."
ROFL! And, yes, the slap is more love than the kiss! Adored this.

What I love above all is this:
The Doctor's head tilts slightly to one side, curious. "Did that do anything for you?" he asks matter-of-factly.
Donna shrugs. "Not really, no."
"Oh, good, me neither."
"Just not for us."
"Nah."
"I never fancy nutters anyway."
Brilliant! So Ten and Donna, so THEM! Just brilliant. And going straight to my rec list. :)
