I imagine paper is delicious to dogs. I've tried it, myself, but I don't understand the attraction.

It's delicious to parrots, too. I think it has more to do with the texture (crunchy), which is soothing to an anxious animal for some reason. Vasya at the moment has a huge pile of ticker tape at the bottom of her cage. If I had a decent ticker tape toy dispenser for Smeagol, he would, too. The impulses differ (parrots are hard-wired to destroy their environment in search of Tasty Things), but I think the attraction to paper is the same -- smells nice, is crunchy, is valued by humans.

Just don't let the dog drink your milkshake.

Although that dog is so cute I wouldn't complain about that either.

Given that most dogs are lactose intolerant, I am really terrified at the personal experience that leads you to give that very specific advice.

I was thinking of the figurative milkshake from "There Will Be Blood", a quote showing up on various T-shirt etc: "I drink your milkshake". Why I tried to apply it here is anyone's guess.

Congrats on the sales AND a great story to boot! If that dog drank less Real Ale, he might stop the literature eating binges.

Thank you!

Ah, and maybe the Real Ale is what explains her literary taste as well...

Very funny story. And woo and a hoo on the sale!
FW is such a great, cool market. Seems like a wonderful and fitting home for your poems. I look forward to reading 'em.

Thank you! I agree, FW is very cool. And very weird. These two poems are at least one of the two.
