I have really dropped the ball here - not even a Card of the Day for a while!
I've been enjoying life, though - family gatherings, game playing, eating and drinking out, bar trivia, meeting ( the new cat )

houston, doctor who, writing, photos, merlin, whining, tv, flickr, family, pets, making art

well, more. I probably would stick with ApolloCon for a while, especially as I get more generic SFF / non-fandom-specific art going (which also feeds into that 'no validation because who cares about it' paranoia, but hey. life.).

And hey, ApolloCon is a bargain. :D

Even knowing that fandom tends to gravitate toward certain subjects/tastes, and that contributions outside that category get comparatively little attention, I am an artist seeking validation just like everybody else.

Awww, what a cute kitty.

I think the envy is probably true for all writers, artists, and musicians. I wish I wrote more like Jean Rhys, and whenever I reread something I've written that someone else says is good, I cringe at how NOT like Jean Rhys it is stylistically.
