If it was a private note sent through the messaging system, vs. on the open walls, then um, actually, she may have blocked you. Even if you defriend someone, you can still send messages.

Ugh. I'm sorry that things turned out this way. There are plenty of people in my family who are as closed-minded, but we generally agree to disagree, rather than allowing it to become a matter of de-friending.

A has some southern fried relatives who do such negative FB blasts that he has blocked them. I have no idea if any of them have been so offended by our marriage-equality/religious freedom/peacenick/tree-hugging posts that we've been blocked. I haven't blocked them because I like to keep an eye on them
