Lois the Corpse Flower

She's gorgeous, she ginormous, she stinks!  It's Lois! The Houston Museum of Natural Science's corpse flower is blooming now and the museum is open extended hours (24 hours sometimes) for the event. Apparently, they get slightly listing drunk clubbers at 3am and then at 5am it rolls over into upright business people on their way to work ( Read more... )

This is not the future, the future will have jetpacks and a moon colony I'LL HAVE YOU KNOW. ;P

But still, that's a really awesome flower. A flower I could imagine planning world domination, yes, but still pretty cool.

yes, I'm waiting for her to emerge from her post-bloom repose to reveal that the stink was actually mind-control gas and we're all Lois-zombies.

Haha, I had tabbed your post when I got a chance to after day one in San Diego, and then like the next day on the SD news, there was your flower as they did a short blurb on it. =D
