No, really Nimrod... tell us what you really feel. Don't hold back on our account. :)

I should probably point out that I use Firefox for my day-to-day browsing and only have IE on my computer for purposes of checking browser compatibility in web design. Even IE7 is not without its headaches, but these are minor and manageable by comparison.

Everyone should use Firefox. Burn IE! Burn!

Burn faster, my toes are cold!

LOL!

I use both Firefox and Opera. I only use IE when forced to - like when someone builds a webpage that can only be seen in IE. (stupid developers... grumble...)

For this purpose you may want to install the IE Tab Addon for FF which allows you to switch to the IE engine without ever leaving Firefox. Very, very useful in general.

Use Mozilla. The end.

I think you missed the point a little.

I've used Firefox/Mozilla for years and in fact even when I had IE6 I don't think I ever used it except vicariously through FF's IE Tab.

My hatred here is not as a user but as a designer since I cannot, alas, ignore its existence no matter how much I scrunch up my eyes, huddled and rocking back and forth in a corner, desperately trying to deny its existence in the vane hope that I should restore some sanity soon and the world will begin to make sense.

I ended up writing two css files for some of my sites, with a script to pick the right one. Yes, one was just for IE. The worst thing is, people still write pages that only work on IE, and some of those don't work on IE Tab. *sigh*

And that's why all good web page writers have to have at least 3 browsers on their computer. Heck, I just noticed Safari Tab on my last trawl through FF extensions.

I might well end up doing that so long as I understand why the hell it's doing the funky in the first place and if I can't have both rules co-existing "happily" then this will be a likely, while somewhat annoying outcome.
