We saw Star Trek over the weekend with jadecat , lazycatsteve and donuthunter at the IMAX theater. I'm really glad we paid the extra amount to see it on the huge screen because there is nothing like seeing splashy hi-tech action scenes on a huge screen.

Uhura's first name has been around for a while, but it never was canon. It has been used in books and other resources, but never counted as official before. Uhura means freedom, and Nyota means star. I cheered when Spock said it, because it's finally canon!

I didn't know that. My Trek was always through TV and fanfiction so long ago I don't remember the stories.
