I... oh my. I don't know if you'll ever even read this comment, but I feel like not leaving one would be criminal. This is so, so stunning.

I don't even know what else to say. I love every word. The contrast between Ivan and Alexei is so poignant here.

Man. It's been a while since I read the book, so I've forgotten a lot, but I remember feeling throughout that while I aspired to be like Alyosha, I tended to fall closer to Ivan. That book was one that really left me thinking hard about life, about how to live. "Alyosha loves the world, so the world loves him. You disdain the world, so…what follows?" This fic has had a similar effect.
