Now, had Kate not been kidnapped and escaped five thousand times before, I would give this escape a bit more leeway since I could imagine suddenly going into battle like that would make everyone real distracted, but since that's not the case, she can go bite me.
*sigh* Will and Elizabeth need to just go commit romantic suicide. It's not like the are in this fix anyways and it's all the rage in these types of stories anyways.
I know. Once or even twice, I could understand. People were getting kidnapped right and left in the third movie, sometimes on purpose. But we're supposed to believe that she's the daughter of Blackbeard and one of the Pirate Lords and the pirate to end all pirates and it just is STUPID.
Will and Elizabeth pretty much disappear. Most of their parts in the sequel are ignored or taken over by the Sue. Poor guys. *goes to watch wedding scene again*
I don't know....I think I'm kind of happy with them being, I'm sure, very happily left out. Think of this way: they've escaped! Too bad the others can't, but maybe they don't have the moral fiber ;)
For such a supposedly badass pirate wench, all she does is flail around like a helpless dainty damsel when any of the Big Strong Men are around. Otherwise the only people she shouts down at are....the REAL badass women and that one child from the early chapters.
This says a lot about the Suethor herself.
Also I figured she'd at least write Elizabeth being the one who handcuffed Jack to the ship. She does love to bash her so; why not use that one canon moment?
I'd think that too, but Gethesemane must be too paranoid to let Elizabeth anywhere near Jack. It's like how the Suethor of Holly Potter kept Hermione away from Krum and the Yule Ball.
"You know, Will and Elizabeth? The two who are virtually nonexistent right now and for all we know were left on that island?"
Ah, maybe it's better that way. If they're being ignored, then the Sue/Gethsemane isn't ragging on them or ruining their awesomeness.
I have a headcanon now where Will and Elizabeth decided to stay on the island on purpose to get away from the Sue. After the Pearl went down, they snuck back into the fic, decapitated Kate, and restored canon to its proper place.
Because those two are awesome and would totally do that.
